"Do you consider yourself to be a man? In my opinion you're  nothing (.....) Would I do a thing like that? Would I do such a thing to your daughter, to a little Fourniret."

These were the words of  Kanyarat Thumpong, the mother of Mananya whom Fourniret abducted in may 2001 when she was  just 13.

Playng his silly games as usual, Fourniret continued to deny rape but admitted kidnap and murder.

The young girl's stepfather, however, brought him down to size with the words:

"Above all, don't stand up, that's the height you should be. Thank you for keeping silent. Thank you for not adding the cruelty of your words to the cruelty of your actions."

Just before that he had spoken with emotion of how the young girl would have been 21 now, if someone hadn't put an end to her life.
