They say the police here are 'hard' .They are certainly over strict on traffic regulations: for example a friend of ours was fined 76 euros for 'not stopping long enough' at a white line, but the ones we have spoken to are friendly. We even invited three of them in when they were doing 'house to house' enquiries and they sampled English tea and went home with tins of baked beans. It's only when you think, 'Oh my God, there were three GUNS in my house' that you realise how dangerous they could be when they mean business.
