Yes, Pat, Keith is right. Someone told me they were called bullaces(?) in English but I'd never heard of that before. (Not sure how to spell it either).
So far we've made three more cakes and filled two preserving jars with mirabelles in alcohol. There's still an awful lot left.
Trouble is, it cost a fortune to buy all the extra flour, sugar, butter, alcohol for fruit etc and some recipes demand a healthy 'watering' with mirabelle liqueur as well.
