The cakes look delicious. Our local cake shop isn't a patch on the ones in France. Everything is baked in a factory somewhere else and brought to the shop in the mornings. The shop doesn't even smell of fresh bread etc., like they do in France. Our supermarket bread is appalling! It turns to 'goo' in your mouth when you chew it. I always make my own sour-dough bread every Saturday to freeze for the week, have done so for years. Bread, along with wine and cheese, is something the French are very good at making.
